Hospital Redevelopment

cfes was selected as the Design and Build contractor through a Framework agreement with Spire Healthcare to carry out the phased hospital redevelopment of the existing hospital. This initiative aims to enhance clinical and care services for patients as part of Spire Healthcare’s offerings for NHS Lothian.

The primary objectives of the project were to increase capacity while ensuring compliance with Health Building Notes (HBNs), Scottish Health Planning Notes (SHPNs), and Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) standards.

cfes collaborated with the client and user teams to transform existing departments, adding two ultra-clean operating theatres on the first floor and replacing the underutilised imaging department on the ground floor with two outpatient procedure rooms.

This hospital theatre design ensures high efficiency and safety, meeting modern healthcare standards while meeting the client brief and branding requirements.
