Yeovil SSD 

The project involved the design and construction of a Sterile Services Department (SSD) and an Endoscopy Decontamination unit on the roof of the existing Accident & Emergency (A&E) Department. 

This undertaking was secured through the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) process and was conducted within an active hospital setting. We served as the primary contractor for this initiative, utilising modern construction methods to enhance quality and finish while minimising disruption to ongoing hospital operations. 

The project included the installation of a new steam-raising plant, processing systems, and HVAC services, all in accordance with HTMs, HBN 13, and Department of Health MES guidelines. 

Our efforts in hospital design earned the project a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating at the design stage, thanks to the implementation of a high-temperature condensate heat recovery system and the creation of outstanding working environments for staff.
